November in a Nutshell

Wednesday, 7 December 2016

OH MY GOODNESS I'M FREEZING. I've been up since 7am (it's 1pm right now as I write this) and  it's minus 5 degrees outside and my heating is broken. Let me just emphasise that; my heating is broken. #PrayForSara
I've seen a lot of "November Favourites" posts rolling around lately, one of my favourites being this one from the lovely Tabitha's blog. I'm a pretty nosy person, so I love these kinds of posts just for the fact that I get to have  a sneaky wee insight into the kind of things that people love.

This post is kinda following the "November Faves" trend, but I wanted to put my own little spin on it. So I'm gonna share some of my highlights with you, but I'm also gonna share some of my lowlights with out. (Do you call them lowlights? Idk, low points, whatever). And maybe I'll natter away a bit as well. You know me, I like to natter. I can even natter about nattering. Aint I great...

November Positives

Meeting New People.
Yay! More people to natter to! I've always adored getting to meet new people, and university is a really great environment for getting to meet a tonne of interesting people that you never would have met under 'normal' circumstances. This month, I got to meet quite a few new people through connections that I have already established with my lovely friends at Uni. One person in particular... I think they'll know who they are if they're reading this, lol.

Watching Christmas Movies
It's the most wonderful time of the year, right guys? The other day I watched The Holiday for the first time (I think I mentioned it in a blog post at some point... not sure when I scheduled that post though so I can't link you to it... I'll do that when I get everything sorted out I promise) and oh my bloody goodness it was wonderful. I think my eyes even watered at the ending. And the ending wasn't even sad in the slightest. Okay, so maybe it was a bit sad. But not sad enough to make a normal person cry. Anyways, enough said- I loved it.

No More Uni
Although technically my last day of uni was the 2nd of December, I didn't have any compulsory classes so I stayed at home and caught up on lecture slides in the comfort of my own lovely, warm and cosy bed. #Heavenly.

November Eats

Pancakes with maple syrup.

Candycanes (it's never too early for candy)

Chocolate Bark

Cinnamon Pretzels

November Negatives

It's gotten rather nippy
Nippy. Lol. What a strange word for chilly/cold/fucking baltic. Yeah, this time of year isn't very fun when you detest the cold. It kinda makes it 100000x harder to leave the house when you know that you're gonna be met by ice and fog and minus 252467 degree temperature... Okay, maybe -252467 is a bit of an exaggeration... but it's cold alright?

My Back Hurts. A lot.
So it's been about a month and a half since my back started getting chronically quite painful. I'm not really sure why, but it's freaking awful. There was one point where I was walking from building to building in the middle of my day at uni and I actually had to put my (extremely heavy) bag down and pause for a second because it was causing me pain in my ribs as well. (I really need to get that checked out, but yano, fear of hospital environments and all)

I'm literally a poor student
So you might know that I recently left my job at McDonalds for a new job (Yay Santander!!). When I handed in my notice, I gave myself a week in between when I thought I'd be leaving and when I thought I'd be starting my new job. Yeah, about that? My manager decided to give me one shift after I handed in my notice. Very nice. So now I've not been working at all for a whole three weeks and I am poor as fuck  and Christmas is very, very, very soon. Eek.

November Purchases

A cute black dress for going clubbing in. I've worn it already and absolutely love it!

A matte, bright red liquid lipstick from Sleek. Because everyone night a red lip for the festive season.

A travel flask from Primark. Primark actually have a really good range of travel flasks; I was pretty surprised by the quality as well- I feel like my purchase will definitely get me through this season- and maybe even last me through Spring too...
