August is drawing to a close, and I am spending my first weekend in my brand-spankin' new flat. I've got a homemade Iced Vanilla Latte in-hand, and I'm sat on my bed in a room full of boxes... Yeah.
I can't wait to show you my flat once I've got everything sorted out, but today I just wanted to have a chilled coffee break with you guys before I have to get on with all this unpacking.
I usually LOVE Summer, but this year was a bit of a disappointment in that I didn't manage to go on holiday at all, and the weather in Glasgow was a bit crappy. Autumn is such a snug season, where listening to the rain pitter patter as you're wrapped up inside is comforting- rather than disappointing.
I'm looking forward to the cinnamon lattes, Autumnal-scented candles, and cosy movie nights with friends.
I've decided to be more experimental with my cooking this week- because I'm sure as hell going to become sick of pasta if I keep things up the way they've been going so far. Since it's nearly Autumn, I've bought a bunch of ginger and I'm going to be trying to incorporate it with my meals. I might have a veggie and chicken roast one day, or something like that...
My Student Loan doesn't come in until mid-September, and recently new management have come in to work and dramatically cut down my shifts...so it's safe to say that I'm going to really have to crack down on my budgeting for the forthcoming weeks. Does anyone have any money-saving/money-making tips or tricks?
A lot of you will be starting Freshers or returning to University in about a fortnight... and I'm interested to know how you've prepared?
This time last year I had splurged on a tonne new clothes (because in first year, you are taught that image is everything... but don't worry, by second semester you'll be rocking up to lectures in sweatpants and a 'styled' messy bun), about 6 A4 notebooks (when in reality I only actually needed 3, because I did the majority of my work on my laptop), and five books- one for every business subject... and yeah, I ended up only actually using one of them.
I'll leave you with a couple of Uni-related links... and I wish you a wonderful Sunday Slumber
Ooh can't wait to see the flat!
ReplyDeleteTips on saving money is bulk cooking and freezing as well writing down incoming and outgoings each week.
